In many neighborhoods across the country, access to fresh fruits and vegetables is nearly nonexistent while junk foods abound. This Center Scene Public Program goes behind the scenes of America's food system with a screening of the documentary Food, Inc. and explores how South Los Angeles youth are bringing healthy options to their community.

At this event, you'll also hear how the South L.A. Healthy Eating, Active Communities initiative and Public Matters engage young people and you'll learn how to convert corner stores into sources of healthy foods using online toolkit MarketMakeovers.org. Join us and green your food desert.
