Strengthen Kids' Health Insurance Programs

A March 2 USA Today article ("Uninsured kids fare worse at hospitals") focused on a recently released Families USA study that found uninsured children who are hospitalized are twice as likely to die from their injuries as those with insurance. The California Endowment's President and CEO Robert K. Ross, M.D., penned a response to the article that said all children should be insured. One way to start, he noted, would be to strengthen and support the State Children's Health Insurance Program, which is responsible for providing nearly 6 million kids with health coverage.
